2XL Networks is proud to help sponsor BarCampMadison, which is happening August 28th, 2010.
If you're in Madison and want to check out what BarCamp is all about, please stop by. We'll have some interesting technology to show off. :)
It's BarCamp Time again... and we're proud to be sponsoring BarCampMilwaukee5 happening Oct 2nd/3rd, 2010 at Bucketworks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Our friends at the Bucket Brigade have done a great job with the web site... so visit barcampmilwaukee.org and sign-up now!
Well we're not exactly up-to-date here, but we'd like to mention DrawCamp, a BarCamp-like event for drawing that we sponsored in May.
It was great to get the old drawing skills put to use again, and while we did demo a DIY SmartBoard solution using a Wii Remote and a projector, we're even more excited about our latest drawing tool, a Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch Tablet.
Keep on drawing!
We're proud to be helping out our friends at Z2 Marketing with their This Time Tomorrow project, and it's goal of raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
We're in the planning stages for BarCampMilwaukee4. It's hard to believe we've been doing this since 2006, and are on our 4th BarCamp in Milwaukee.
We've got some new challenges this year... The (working) domain right now is barcampmilwaukee.org though it's not up-to-date yet, and we don't have a venue this year, as Bucketworks is temporarily without a physical space... Still, we'll figure out a way to make it happen. If you're interested in becoming a sponsor, or can suggest or provide a sponsor, please get in touch with me at pete@2xlnetworks.com
Thanks.... We'll provide more updates as they happen.
Update: We have a venue. The Chase Commerce Center!
We couldn't be happier to be a sponsor of PhotoCampMilwaukee... and why not, we're also involved in organizing the whole thing and making it an awesome event.
PhotoCampMilwaukee is a BarCamp-like event fully focused on photography. It’s an ad-hoc “un-conference” where people who love photography can get together and teach what they know, and learn what they don’t. It’s about sharing in an open environment. Everyone has experience to share, and getting everyone together in one place, for a full day, seems like a great way to do it.
You don’t have to be a great photographer to attend, you just have to bring your passion for photography. Imaging what you can do, and what you can learn, if you devote one full day to photography, and you do it in a place where 100 other people are doing the same thing...
We're excited about 2009!
Besides being involved in recording and producing music this year, we're branching out into video, and specifically, film.
We're producing a documentary called "Balancing Act" about how people find the balance between the work they want to do, and the work they need to do. It’s a balancing act; a struggle between making your dreams come true, and having reality set in.
Check out the web site for the film at balancingactfilm.com for updates as the work progresses...
So it's coming to that time... The end of another year in business. Things have gone well in 2008, despite the economic turmoil the U.S. has been facing. Hopefully we can look to 2009 for things to start to improve, and with that, we'll be looking to improve our processes in 2009. Smoother everything... from account setup to invoicing to backups.... everything can use improving. If you're not putting a critical eye on your processes and looking to improve them, then you're standing still, and people who stand still get passed by.
Here's to a bright future! We hope to see you there...
Yeah, it’s on…
MilwaukeeDevHouse3 is Friday, November 21, 2008 at 6pm at Bucketworks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Join us!
Well, it's almost here. This coming weekend, October 4th and 5th, 2008 at Bucketworks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, we'll be deep into BarCampMilwaukee3... This is (obviously!) the third BarCamp we've thrown in Milwaukee.
Web414 has pretty much become the driving force behind making these events happen, and we are proud to be associated with that fine group of people.
If you are passionate about any part of technology or creativity, I'd urge you to come to BarCampMilwaukee3. It's a free event for participants (thanks to our sponsors) and the key word is 'participant' as we don't really allow spectators at BarCamp, you need to jump in, get involved, and share what you know.
As we say back at headquarters, "You are an expert at your own experience" So show up and prove it to yourself... See you there!
